My favourite book and my favourite film
"I realize today that nothing in the world is more distasteful to a man than to take the path that leads to himself." - Demian, Hermann Hesse.
Personally I don't really read much but I had a few books that I enjoyed reading, one of them is Demian by Hermann Hesse (wich is actually an amazing book, I guess is my favourite).
I read this book in the beginning of 2017 (I don't remember when exactly) because a friend of mine recommended it to me so I was excited to read it too.
The book tell us the story of the youth of Emil Sinclair, a boy whose story is very influenced by a classmate he had: Max Demian. Sinclair is often found between the two worlds "The Light" and "The Dark" as he grows up.
The book is very philosophical and has references of Gnosticism, in this case Abraxas, he is a god that represents the good and the bad.
I recommend this book because it makes you analize the world and the society that we live in, it makes you think about your own life and you can identify with Sinclair's story.
And talking about movies... I don't watch many films either but my favourite is Ex Machina- written and directed by Alex Garland-. This film won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects in 2016, totally deserved because the visual effects and cinematography of this film are really awesome and pretty.
I loved this film because it's a sci-fi movie about a very intelligent man who created robots who could feel and behave like humans. It surprised how well made this movie was and also the cast is very good, they proved that they can take any role and do it very well.
I recomend this movie to the fans of sci-fi films, and the ones who hate cliché endings like me.
I hope you enjoy this film as much as I did!
I read Demian in the school, it's a great book!!!
